We are renovating the boyhood home of Peter Norbeck. The home needs foundation and floor stablization work, new shingles, windows and doors, and new sheetrock on some walls and ceilings. Work will begin as soon as weather and contractors time permit. We have fund raisers planned and are accepting contributions. Our mailing address is PO Box 132, Geddes, SD 57342. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and contributions are tax deductible.

The South Dakota National Guard Museum, located in Pierre, will be temporarily closed for remodeling, effective Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. The remodel project includes lighting and ceiling upgrades in the north gallery. “We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause our visitors,” said Museum Director Sonja Johnson. “We’ve made a lot of changes this past year and we hope that when we reopen in mid-April, that everyone will take the time to come and view the improvements that have been made.” Director Johnson will be on site during the remodeling project and can be reached at 605.773.2475.
